Why does Lingva have the edge?

High-profile

The first private school of foreign languages in Valjevo, established in April 1990. The students coming back to LINGVA – for another higher-level course – are its best reference. LINGVA’s students actively use foreign languages all over the world – in the USA, Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Italy, France and other countries. As a full member of YALS Association of Private Language Schools of Serbia, Lingva undergoes regular inspections of quality in the fields of school administration, academic management, school premises and work conditions, as well as inspection of teaching and is always awarded top marks. A positive mark by this institution is a prerequisite for renewal of YALS accreditation, which has been regularly achieved by Lingva since it joined YALS in the year 2000.

LINGVA methodology

During 25 years of operation, Lingva has developed a unique methodology based on approaches that have proved to be the most effective in the global language practice: communicative teaching of language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing), blended teaching and “flipped classroom” methods. All of these approaches are adjusted to individual needs of learners, with the emphasis on productive skills and everyday teaching of self-study strategies and self-assessment.

Qualified, experienced and dedicated teachers

Our teachers have a degree in languages, proven teaching skills and they are included in the programme of continuing professional development. They are always ready to motivate and achieve success with students of different proficiency levels.

Small Groups

Usually 6 students – a maximum of 10 students.

Proficiency Assessment

Free placement test before the course, progress tests during the course as well as the final examination are LINGVA’s standard practice.

Hi-tech Equipment / Self-Access Centre

Audio and video equipment, library, as well as multimedia computer centre are at students’ disposal during regular classes or during specified after-class hours for self-access study.

ICT for Language Learning

Development of language skills through attractive interactive activities on computers in the multimedia centre or a big interactive whiteboard, in the form of web quests, creating electronic posters, blogs, multimedia magazines, presentations and projects have shown to be extremely effective in motivating students for more dedicated learning. Lingva has integrated suitable ICT activities into each CEFR level of language learning from A1 to C2, both for children and adults. Students are not just passive recipients of teachers’ inputs but active designers of interactive activities and lessons, whose digital footprints are permanently recorded on Lingva web site and are made available for study to other students and the general public.

Affordable Fees

A discount for advance payment, possibility of payment by installments, and a special discount for families with two or more children are available.

Certificate of Attendance and Certificate of Achievement

At the end of a course, the students who have passed the final examination receive a Certificate of Achievement, which validates the results achieved in all language skills, and is a good reference for further studies or employment. Students who do not wish to take the finals are given a Certificate of Attendance.
